Technical Analysis of Various LED Display Modules
Classification by scanning mode
The LED display modules are classified according to the scanning mode. The common ones are static (1 / 1), 1 / 2, 1 / 4, 1 / 8, 1 / 16, 1 / 32, etc; There are also some special ones, such as 1 / 12, 1 / 14, 1 / 20 scanning and so on. Theoretically, it is possible for n to take any natural number in 1 / n scan. Of course, due to the limitations of convenient design, module size, and brightness requirements, n usually selects 2, 4, 8, and 16. In recent years, due to the decline in the cost of high brightness LED beads, indoor modules also adopt 1 / 32 scanning. At present, there is no display module with n > 32.
In addition to the static mode, each LED bulb has a fixed chip pin to drive it, other scanning modes are time-sharing driven and displayed by the visual stay of human eyes.
The larger the number of N, the less the number of LED modules to be driven at the same time, thus the less driver chip needed and the lower led module brightness.
Classification according to lamp bead spacing
Common are P2 and P2 5、P3、P4. 75、P5、P7. 62、P10、P12. 5, etc. PN indicates that the horizontal and vertical distance between adjacent lamp beads is n mm. P4.75 and P7.65 generally, according to the lamp bead diameter adopted, it is also called φ 3.75 and φ 5。
Classified according to the use occasion
It can be divided into outdoor, semi-outdoor, and indoor.
Due to the exposure to outdoor sunlight and the need for long-distance viewing, the general outdoor display screen adopts scanning methods such as 1 / 1, 1 / 2, and 1 / 4 to meet the needs of brightness. Outdoor display modules are usually equipped with a waterproof installation design.
Semi outdoor display screen generally adopts 1 / 4 and 1 / 8 scanning modes.
Indoor display screen generally adopts scanning methods such as 1 / 16 and 1 / 32.
Sort according to the colors that can be displayed
It can be divided into monochrome, double (base) color, and full-color.
Monochrome display modules generally use all red LED beads. Rare white or other colors of light beads. A display pixel of the dual (base) color display module is composed of two light beads of different colors, generally red and green, which can display three colors: red, green, and yellow (red + green). One pixel of the full-color display module is composed of red, green, and blue light beads. Without gray control, it can display 7 colors such as red, green, yellow, blue, pink, cyan, and white. If you can control the gray level, you can display up to 256, 4096, and other colors.
